Holy Fool Basil of Kamen
Venerable
Blessed Vasily Kamensky, a fool for Christ's sake, was a monk of the Spaso-Kamenniy Monastery on the island of Kubenskoe Lake. At the reliquary of his holy remains, arranged in the church in honor of Saint Vasily the Blessed, there were an icon of Saint Vasily Kamensky in full height, heavy iron chains, and a cap made of iron strips.
In 1774, during a fire, everything that could burn was consumed, but the reliquary and the image on it remained untouched, although the entire burial chamber was filled with smoke and flames. The memory of Blessed Vasily is celebrated on August 2/15, on the day of his feast.
