Saint Martyr Vasily Vladimirovich Pobedonoscev was born in 1848. In 1870, he graduated from the Perm Theological Seminary, and in 1878, he was ordained as a priest and served in the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Kamensky Factory in the Perm Province. Father Vasily became a member of the Committee for Assistance to Underprivileged Students of the Perm Theological Seminary and was appointed as the dean of the 2nd district in 1896. In 1899, he was awarded the pectoral cross. On March 29, 1906, he was dismissed from the position of dean, and in 1912, he was elevated to the rank of protodeacon. After the rise of the godless Bolsheviks to power, he was arrested in 1918 and tortured; on June 10, his head was severed.
