Vasily Timofeevich Krasnov was born in 1886 in the village of Kalinovka, Samara province. After completing 4 classes of the Theological Seminary, he served as a psalmist. In 1914, he was drafted into the army, fought until January 1918, and from September to November 1919 served in the Red Army. In 1921, he was ordained as a priest.
On June 4, 1935, he was arrested and sentenced to 3 years in a labor camp. In the Karaganda labor camp, he worked as a guard, where imprisoned priests gathered for prayer. In October 1937, he was arrested again, accused of participating in a counter-revolutionary group. While not denying the fact of prayer gatherings, he did not confess to the charges. The arrested priests were shot on November 20, 1937, and buried in an unmarked grave. He was glorified by the Archierarchical Jubilee Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in the year 2000.
