He was born on January 20, 1883, in Moscow to the merchant Pavel Koklin. He graduated from a four-grade city school and helped his father in trade. He served in the army as a private during World War I from 1915 to 1918. After returning from the front, he continued to assist his father at the Zatsepsky market from 1922 to 1927. In 1927, he was ordained as a priest and served in the Znamenskaya Church in the village of Perovo.
He was arrested on January 21, 1938, along with a group of clergy from the Ukhtomsky district of the Moscow region. During interrogations, he denied the accusations of counter-revolutionary activities and did not admit his guilt. On March 15, 1938, the NKVD troika sentenced him to death by shooting. He was executed on April 5, 1938, and buried in an unmarked mass grave at the Butovo firing range near Moscow.
