Martyrs Trophimus and Eucarpus of Nicomedia
Martyrs
When the persecution of Christians began in Nicomedia, the holy martyrs Trophimus and Eucarpus, being soldiers, seized Christians and subjected them to torture. One day they saw a fiery cloud from heaven, from which a voice called them to repentance. Struck by the vision, they repented and freed the imprisoned Christians. The city governor, learning of this, ordered them to be cruelly tortured, but they bravely endured their suffering, praying to God. In the end, they were thrown into the fire, where, praising God, they surrendered their souls into the hands of God. Thus ended their martyric life around the year 300.
