Hieromartyr Timothy, Bishop of Prusa
Hieromartyr
Saint Timothy was a bishop in Prusa. He was a man of profound virtue, for which God granted him the gift of working miracles.
He once killed a giant serpent that was terrorizing and poisoning people and animals. He also healed the king who suffered from a serious illness. The saint raised the queen from the dead and converted many people to Christianity.
When Emperor Julian began launching persecutions against the Church, Saint Timothy zealously proclaimed the word of the Gospel and got imprisoned. Despite the prohibitions, he continued to preach the truth until Julian ordered that he be beheaded.
After the saintly repose of Saint Timothy, his body was buried with honors, while numerous miracles began to take place at his tomb.
