Saint Tabitha the Widow
Righteous
The holy righteous Tabitha, a virtuous and charitable woman, belonged to the Christian community in Joppa. She fell seriously ill and died. At that time, the holy Apostle Peter was preaching in Lydda, to whom messengers were sent with a request for help. When the Apostle arrived in Joppa, the righteous Tabitha was already dead. Kneeling down, the Apostle prayed to the Lord and, approaching the bed, called out: 'Tabitha, arise!' She rose up completely healthy.
