Tatiana Egorova
Martyr
Tatiana Prokofievna Egorova was born on January 15, 1879, in the village of Giblitsy, Ryazan Province, into a poor peasant family. She had no formal education, but before the revolution, she engaged in trade of manufactured goods with her parents and husband. In 1932, her household was confiscated, and she was excluded from the collective farm. Characterized as an 'active churchgoer', Tatiana Prokofievna was arrested on November 6, 1937. The investigation could not convince her of participation in a counter-revolutionary organization. During the interrogation, she stated: 'Jesus suffered, and I will also endure.' The 'troika' of the NKVD sentenced her to execution on December 6, 1937, under Article 58, paragraphs 10-11.
