120 Martyrs of Persia
Saints
The 120 Holy Martyrs suffered under the Persian king Shapur during the reign of the Greek Emperor Constantius (337–361). For their confession of the Christian faith, they endured severe tortures and ultimately lost their lives in fire.
Their martyrdom is dated between 344 and 347 AD.
Among them, there were nine virgins who had dedicated their lives to Christ. It is also believed that they may have suffered martyrdom together with the Bishop Sadoth.
