Blessed Stephen was the son of Lazarus, the Prince of Serbia. In the difficult times of Turkish oppression, he became a great benefactor to his enslaved compatriots. He built cities, created churches, and spent his treasury to help those in need. He surpassed many rulers in wisdom, mercy, and faith. He died peacefully in 1427.
