Holy Apostles Stakhys, Apelles, Amplias, Urban, Aristovulus and Narcissus of the 70
Apostles
Saint Stachys was a bishop in Byzantium, appointed by the holy apostle Andrew. He founded a church in Argyrópolis and taught the faithful the commandments of Christ for sixteen years, after which he surrendered his soul to the Lord. The apostle Andrew also ordained Amplius and Urbanus as bishops, who preached the teaching of Christ and destroyed idol temples, for which they suffered persecution and torment, but were granted crowns.
Narcissus, Apelles, and Aristobulus also preached the Gospel: Narcissus in Athens, Apelles in Heraclea, Aristobulus in Britain. All of them, after many labors, surrendered their souls to the Lord.
