The holy martyr Synclytikia and her two daughters suffered from the Arabian king Dunaaan. Coming from a noble family, she, having become a widow in her youth, dedicated herself to the Christian upbringing of her daughters and led a chaste and virtuous life. Dunaaan, plotting to destroy Christians, began a persecution and summoned the saint with her daughters, trying to persuade her to abandon her 'madness.' In response to her fear of God, the king ordered them to be led through the city as criminals. The women, seeing the disgrace of the saint, wept, but she said that this 'disgrace' was dearer to her than any earthly honor.
Dunaaan again summoned the martyr and offered her to remain alive if she renounced Christ. To his question about salvation from eternal death, the enraged torturer ordered first to kill the daughters, and then to behead the mother.
