The Venerable Syncletica was born in Egypt, in Alexandria, to a noble and pious family. From her youth, she aspired to the Heavenly Bridegroom Christ and did not wish to marry, preferring the inner adornment of the soul to the external. After the death of her parents, she distributed all her possessions to the poor and, taking her sister with her, settled in a tomb monument. She took monastic vows and concealed her struggles, increasing her fasting and enduring temptations. Many women sought her guidance, and she eventually founded a community. In her last years, she suffered from severe illnesses but did not accept medical help, relying on God. Before her death, she saw a vision of holy angels and foretold her departure from this life, which occurred three days later. The Venerable Syncletica reposed around the year 350, having lived on earth for about eighty years in labors and struggles, and now dwells in eternal heavenly abodes.
