Martyrs Simeon, Isaac and Bachtisius of Persia
Martyrs
The Holy Martyrs Simeon, Isaac, and Bachtisius were natives of Persia and suffered during the reign of Shapur. They were captured by idolaters and tortured for their faith in Christ. They were pressured to renounce the Orthodox faith and to worship the sun and the fire as gods. However, they refused, accepting instead their martyr’s death.
After severe tortures, they were thrown into prison, where they spent seven days without food. Their sufferings continued until their beheading, by which they completed their earthly journey.
