Presbyter
Saint Severin served in the church of the Most Holy Theotokos.
Once, one of the local inhabitants fell gravely ill. He called the saint to his home in order to confess his sins and depart in peace. However, Saint Severin was delayed. When he finally arrived, he learned that the sick man had already passed away. He wept bitterly and accused himself.
He then began to pray with tears, until suddenly the deceased man was raised to life. Those present asked him about his experience after death and about the miracle that had taken place. He recounted that he saw dark and terrifying beasts seize him, until a young man appeared with others and, hearing the supplications of Severin, restored his soul into his body.
The saint shone with joy, for he was now able to fulfill the task entrusted to him. He heard the confession of the man who had been raised from the dead, instructed him in repentance, and gave him the Holy Communion. The man lived for another seven days in prayer. On the eighth he departed joyfully to the Lord.
Through this miracle, there was revealed the love of God for Saint Severin, as he had served Him faithfully throughout his life.
