Saint Sebastiana the Martyr at Heraclea
Martyr
Saint Martyr Sebastian lived during the reign of Domitian and was a disciple of the Apostle Paul. The governor George ordered her to be captured in the city of Markianopolis. She was subjected to cruel tortures and thrown into a heated furnace, but she remained unharmed. Then she was taken to Heraclea, where she was hanged on a tree, and after that thrown to be devoured by beasts, yet again she remained unharmed. In the end, her head was cut off with a sword, and instead of blood, milk flowed from her. Her body, according to the Greek prologs, was thrown into the sea, but three angels carried it to Rizist.
