Saint Sevastian was born on November 20, 1872, in the village of Staro-Ivancevo, Nizhny Novgorod province. In 1892, she entered as a novice in the Resurrection Feodorovsky Monastery. In 1924, she took in the retired Metropolitan Seraphim (Chichagov) for residence. In 1933, he was removed from the clergy, and Sevastian assisted him in household matters. On November 30, 1937, the metropolitan was arrested and shot on December 11. On December 10, 1937, Sevastian was arrested and interrogated, where she declared her non-recognition of the Soviet authority as the authority of the Antichrist. On December 20, 1937, the NKVD troika sentenced her to eight years of imprisonment in a labor camp. She passed away in the Bamlage on July 11, 1938, and was buried in an unmarked grave.
