The martyr Sebastian of Rome was the governor of Attalia. He met Saint Victor and, learning of his Christian faith, advised him to submit to the will of the emperor in order to avoid putting himself and his family in danger. Victor, however, decided to be a preacher of Christianity. Sebastian, feeling pain in his eyes, became blind for three days, after which he regained his sight and was baptized, acknowledging the Christian faith. Sebastian's servants, witnessing the miracle, also got baptized. News of the event reached Nero, who ordered the Christians to be brought to trial. The Lord appeared to them and encouraged Sebastian, saying that blessed is he who completes his deed to the end. In Rome, Sebastian and other martyrs endured tortures and were beheaded by the order of the emperor.
