Sergey Alexandrovich Brednikov was born in the city of Verny in the Semirechensk region (Kazakhstan). From 1907 to 1914, he served as a psalmist, and in 1915, he was ordained as a priest. Father Sergey served in the church of the city of Kara-Kol in Kyrgyzstan. In 1930, he was arrested and sentenced to 3 years of exile, which he served in the city of Taldy-Kurgan. After completing his sentence, he continued to live in Taldy-Kurgan, diligently fulfilling his pastoral duties. On November 24, 1937, he was arrested again and accused of agitation and spreading rumors. On December 1, the troika of the NKVD of the Alma-Ata region sentenced him to the highest measure of punishment. On December 10, 1937, the holy martyr Sergey was shot.
