Serapion and with him Kallinikos, Theodore and Faustus
Martyrs
Saint Serapion was from Egypt. He came to believe in Christ after witnessing the tortures of Saint Meletios and his companions. He was arrested and imprisoned, until an angel of the Lord appointed him as bishop. He then taught those who wished to confess their faith in Christ. Through his guidance, the relatives, the counts, and the soldiers strengthened their faith and suffered martyrdom for the love of Christ. The governor was enraged. The saint was beheaded together with Kallinikos, while Theodoros and Faustos, along with others, were burned alive. The women and children were beaten to death. Thus the holy martyrs surrendered their souls into the hands of God and entered His eternal Kingdom.
