In the time of persecution, the holy virgin Seraphima, a citizen of Antioch, managed to bring the pious Savina to the Christian faith. The governor Berillus, having learned about Seraphima, ordered her arrest. Savina, wishing to protect her, went to the governor herself, who, seeing her noble lineage, released both of them.
At the trial, the governor demanded that Seraphima offer sacrifices to the pagan gods, to which she replied that she serves only the Almighty God. The governor, not understanding her words, ordered that Seraphima be handed over to wicked young men, but she, praying, was saved from their evil intentions through divine intervention.
When the young men came to their senses, the governor questioned Seraphima again, but she asserted that only the Lord Jesus Christ was with her. The governor, not believing her, ordered her to be tortured, but all his attempts to harm her turned against him, and he became blind.
In the end, the governor ordered Seraphima to be executed by the sword. The pious Savina buried her body with honor, praising Christ. Seraphima was glorified as a martyr for the Christian faith.
