Anna Alexeyevna Gorskova was born on February 2, 1893, in a village of the Yaroslavl province. After becoming a nun and receiving the name Seraphima, she devoted herself to an ascetic life until 1917. Following the Revolution, she was forced to wander from place to place. In 1921, she settled at the Monastery of the Resurrection in Saint Petersburg.
On February 17, 1932, she was arrested and sentenced to three years of exile in Kazakhstan. She remained there longer than required by the authorities, supporting and taking care of the exiled clergy. The holy martyr reposed in the Lord after being arrested on September 10, 1937. She was executed on November 19 of the same year.
