Archangel Selaphiel

Archangel Selaphiel encourages people to pray for their health and salvation. His name, translated from Hebrew, means “prayer to the Lord.”

He appeared to Hagar when she was suffering in the desert and told her that the Lord had heard her prayer. He also appeared during her exile from Abraham, offering her comfort and assuring that a great nation would arise and flourish from her son.

Archangel Selaphiel is depicted with his head bowed and his hands folded upon his chest in an state of prayer. In this way, he calls us to continually supplicate and glorify the Lord, keeping our hearts pure and filled with love.
