Venerable Savva of the Kiev Far Caves
Venerable
Saint Savva of the Caves labored in the Near Caves of the Kiev-Pechersk Monastery in the 13th century. In the handwritten saints' lives, in the 'Book of Saints,' and in the canon of the service to the Kiev-Pechersk saints, he is called a miracle worker. His feast day is celebrated on April 24 in honor of his name day with Saint Martyr Savva Stratilat. The memory of Saint Savva is also celebrated together with the assembly of the holy fathers of the Near Caves (September 28) and the assembly of all Kiev-Pechersk miracle workers (2nd Sunday of Great Lent).
