Hieromartyr Sadoc (Sadoth), Bishop of Persia, and 128 Martyrs with him
Hieromartyr
Saint Sadok, Bishop of Persia, ascended to the throne after Saint Simeon. He had a vision in which Saint Simeon called him to martyrdom. Sadok taught his brethren about love for God and readiness to suffer for Christ. During the persecutions orchestrated by King Sapores, Saint Sadok and 128 martyrs were captured and subjected to cruel tortures. They steadfastly confessed their faith, refusing to worship the sun and fire, and joyfully prepared for death. The king ordered their execution, and they, praising God, accepted martyrdom. Saint Sadok was beheaded in the city of Viflapat. All the holy martyrs completed their sufferings, glorifying our Lord Jesus Christ.
