Venerable Rufus the Obedient of the Kiev Far Caves
Venerable
Venerable Rufus, the hermit of the Caves, labored in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra in the 14th century. He was distinguished by his obedience and is celebrated as a model of ascetics and hard workers. He is buried in the Far Caves. His memory is also commemorated on August 28 along with the Synaxis of the Venerable Ones of the Far Caves.
