Saint Romylos was born in the city of Vidin. After completing his education, he began his monastic life. Under the guidance of Saint Gregory of Sinai, he lived an ascetic life in the Hidden Desert. However, he was soon forced to withdraw due to attacks by robbers.
When the robbers became less of a threat, the saint returned to his place of solitude, where he was visited by Gregory Tsamblak. Shortly afterward, he left again, this time due to threats from the Muslims, and moved to the Lavra of Saint Athanasius in Mount Athos.
Finally, together with his disciples, he moved to the Serbian lands, to the Monastery of the Ascension of the Lord in Ravanica. After a short time, he reposed in peace. His holy relics are preserved in the Monastery of Ravanica, where numerous miraculous healings take place through them.
