Poluvius, Bishop of Rinocyra (V)
Holy Hierarch
Bishop
Bishop
Saint Polyvius was a disciple of Saint Epiphanius, who, before his death, instructed him to go to Egypt. After his teacher’s passing, Polyvius did not wait for the burial but immediately fulfilled his mentor’s command and went to the city of Rhinokyra, where he was appointed bishop. Because of his virtuous life, he was granted the gift of working miracles. One of the most notable occurred when, through his fervent prayer, rain poured down from heaven during a time of great drought. Saint Polyvius reposed in deep old age, leaving behind a shining example of faith and a great Christian legacy.
