Saint Pimen the Many-Suffering (11th century) was born and raised in illness. He long asked his parents to take him to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, where, realizing the value of suffering, he prayed to the Lord for the continuation of his illness and for monastic tonsure. Angels performed the rite of his tonsure, and he spent many years in heavy sufferings, healing other sick people. Saint Pimen healed one brother, who promised to serve the sick until death. Three days before his death, he became healthy, received the Holy Mysteries, and indicated the place for his burial. After his death, three pillars of fire appeared. His relics rest in the Anthony Caves.
The second commemoration of the saint is celebrated on September 28 with the Synaxis of the Venerable Ones of the Near Caves.
