Presbyter
On January 16, 1882, in the village of Karabai, Perm Province, a boy was born, baptized with the name Peter. At the age of twelve, he graduated from the district zemstvo school. He met his wife Elena, with whom he tied his life. In 1904, he began his ministry in the church, fulfilling the duties of a psalmist. In 1908, he was ordained as a priest. In 1912, he was sent to the All-Russian Old Believer Congress in Petrograd. In 1914, Bishop Andronic appointed him as the rector. Peter and Elena had three children: Raisa, Maria, and Mikhail. In 1918, Priest Peter was captured by the Reds and shot before his wife’s eyes. His body was buried near the house. The Old Believer church in the village of Voskresensk was burned, and the Orthodox church was destroyed. In August 2000, he was included in the Assembly of New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia. October 9/22 is the day of remembrance of Priest Martyr Peter Vyatkin, who was killed in 1918.
