Presbyter
Saint Peter was born in 1867 in the village of Pokrovskoye, Tula Province, in the family of priest Alexei Voskoboynikov. He graduated from the Tula Theological Seminary and was ordained a priest, serving in the church where his father worked. In 1933, he was elevated to the rank of protopresbyter. His entire pastoral life took place in the village of Batkopolye, where he was arrested in 1937.
In January 1937, denunciations against Father Peter began, accusing him of anti-Soviet agitation. On September 9, 1937, he was arrested and imprisoned in Kashira prison. During the interrogation, he denied all accusations, but despite this, he was sentenced.
On November 11, 1937, the NKVD troika sentenced him to execution. Saint Peter Voskoboynikov was to be shot on November 13, 1937, at the Butovo firing range and buried in an unknown common grave.
