Saint Martyr Priest Peter Krestov was born in 1890 in the village of Gorodets, Ryazan province. After graduating from the Ryazan Theological Seminary, he served in the army and was captured during World War I. From 1918 to 1922, he worked as a teacher in the village of Panino. In 1922, he was ordained as a priest and appointed rector of the Pentecost Church.
In 1930, Father Peter was arrested along with his wife, leaving behind five children. He was released after two months, but was sentenced to six years in a correctional labor camp. After his release, he returned to his ministry.
Father Peter actively preached against abortion. In 1938, he was arrested on false charges of participating in an anti-Soviet organization. He did not confess to his guilt and did not testify against others. Sentenced to five years in camps, he was sent to Vytlag of the NKVD, where he died on December 19, 1941, from hunger and disease.
