Saint Peter was born in the city of Capitolium and was married, having three children. He was distinguished by his wisdom and converted many to the true path. After accepting monasticism, he was appointed Bishop of Bostra. As a Christian teacher, the saint was captured by the Agarenians and taken to Damascus for torture. They cut off his tongue, but he began to speak even more clearly. Then they severed his right hand and foot, gouged out his eyes, nailed him to a cross, and finally beheaded him, after which his body was burned. The time of St. Peter's death is believed to be in the 3rd or early 4th century.
