Saints Peter and Fevronia (tonsured David and Euphrosyne), Wonderworkers of Murom
Right-Believing Knyaz
Saint Peter came from a devout family. He ruled the territory of Murom with justice and wisdom. He married Princess Fevronia, who was equally pious. Together, they lived in purity, practiced charity, helped the poor, and showed deep respect for the clergy.
In an old age, Prince Peter became a monk, receiving the name David. Shortly thereafter, he completed his life in holiness. Princess Fevronia also embraced monastic life and was given the name Euphrosyne.
After their repose, the people of Murom honored them as their protectors and intercessors. Their holy relics continue to work miracles to this day.
