Hieromartyrs
The holy martyrs Pelias and Nilus, bishops of Egypt, presbyter Zinon, Patermufius, Elijah, and other martyrs, numbering 151, suffered under the emperor Maximian Galerius (305–311). Most of them were Egyptians, among them were also Palestinians. The governor of Palestine, Firmilian, captured 156 Christians. The holy martyrs had their eyes gouged out, their tendons cut on their legs, and were subjected to various other tortures. 100 martyrs were beheaded, while the rest were burned.
