Pausicacus, Bishop of Synada (Phrygia)
Holy Hierarch
Bishop
Bishop
Saint Pausicacus was born in the city of Apamea to noble parents. From his youth, he devoted himself to fasting and prayer, embracing an ascetic way of life. Endowed with the gift of healing, he cured the sick, cast out demons, restored sight to the blind, and performed many other miracles. After being appointed bishop of Synada, he worked hard to liberate the Church from passions and to save his flock. Through his prayers, he healed Emperor Maurice, while during a journey to Ceylon, he caused a spring of water to flow from the earth. Having lived a life of holiness and devotion, Saint Pausicacus peacefully departed to the Lord in the year 606.
