Saint Paul, who was born in 1874, after graduating from the Kaluga Theological Seminary, was assigned to serve in the Peter and Paul Church of the Nyazepetrovsky factory in the Krasnoufimsk district of the Perm province, and then – in the Tikhvin Church in the city of Kungur. On June 29, 1917, he was awarded the pectoral cross. In September 1918, Priest Paul Sokolov was shot by godless Bolsheviks.
