Martyr Pavel Bocharov was born in 1882 in the village of Lubyanki, Mikhaylovsky district of Moscow province. On January 23, 1936, he was accused of “counter-revolutionary agitation directed against collective farm construction” and sentenced to 6 years in a corrective labor camp. He served his sentence in Karlag of the NKVD. On September 19, 1937, he was arrested in the camp. On October 31, 1937, the troika of the NKVD in the Karaganda region sentenced him to the highest measure of punishment, and on November 2, he was shot. Martyr Pavel was canonized among the saints at the Jubilee Archpastoral Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in 2000.
