Bishop
Saint Parthenius was born in Melitopol, his father Christopher was a deacon. From childhood, he manifested the grace of God, casting out demons and performing miracles. Bishop Philip appointed him as a presbyter, and he continued to work miracles, healing the sick.
The fame of his miracles led Archbishop Achillius to appoint him as Bishop of Lampsacus. The saint mourned over the pagan idolatry in his city and, reproving the people, brought many to the faith. Having received permission from the holy Emperor Constantine, he destroyed the idol temples and built churches of God.
Saint Parthenius performed many miracles: he healed the sick, cast out demons, and raised the dead. He healed the daughter of Dionysius, the daughter of Prince Mamalius, as well as many others, including those possessed and paralyzed. His prayers brought healing and deliverance from unclean spirits.
The saint died in old age, in February, and his burial was glorious, with the participation of many archbishops. After his death, he continued to heal and help the suffering, manifesting God's grace. Saint Parthenius is venerated as a great miracle worker and healer, and his prayers help the faithful to this day.
