Martyr Paramon in Bithynia
Martyr
During the reign of the wicked king Decius, there was a prince Aquilinus, who persecuted Christians. He gathered three hundred seventy Christians in prison and, heading towards the warm waters of Valsaitis, ordered them to be forced to offer sacrifice to the idol Poseidon. The holy martyr, passing by, reproached the prince for the murder of the righteous who refused to worship idols. For this, the prince commanded that he be killed. Saint Paramon was cruelly tortured, his tongue was pulled out, and his body was pierced with spears. At that very moment, three hundred seventy martyrs were slain by swords for their faith in Christ.
