Martyrs Papias, Diodorus and Claudianus, at Perge in Pamphylia
Martyrs
The holy martyrs Papias, Diodorus, and Claudian suffered in Attalia during the reign of Emperor Decius. They were shepherds and, being Christians, preached faith in Christ among the pagans. For this, they were denounced and brought to trial before the governor of the region, Paulinus. During the interrogation, they confessed Christ as the true God and Creator of all. The governor, enraged by their confession, subjected them to torture but could not force them to renounce their faith. Ultimately, he ordered their heads to be cut off with a sword. The holy martyrs received their martyr's crowns and were buried by Christians with honor in glory to Christ.
