Saint Palladius of Antioch, the Desert Dweller
Venerable
Venerable Palladius pleased God through his hermit life, striving in prayer and fasting. He built a hut on a mountain and, having enclosed himself in it, he performed unceasing vigil. For his virtues, he was glorified with the gift of miracles. Once, when a merchant was killed, his body was thrown before the door of the saint's hut, and the people accused him of the crime. The saint prayed and resurrected the dead man, who named his murderers, thus proving the venerable one's innocence. Venerable Palladius performed many other miracles and, having excelled in virtues, peacefully departed to God, leaving the Church beneficial writings for souls.
