Martyrs Onesiphorus and Porphyrius of Ephesus
Martyrs
The holy martyrs Onesiphorus and Porphyrius suffered during the reign of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. During the persecutions of Christians, they endured severe tortures, including inhumane beatings and terrible torment. They were shackled on long iron rods and burned with fire, and then tied to wild horses, which tore their bodies apart. The faithful secretly gathered their remains and buried them with honor in the village of Pangian, where miracles and healings began to occur from the relics of the saints, glorifying God in the Trinity. The village of Pangian was located in Macedonia, near Mount Pangaion.
