Hieromonk
Venerable Onisifor, the clairvoyant, labored in the Kiev-Pechersk Monastery in the 12th century. He was a presbyter and possessed the gift of clairvoyance, seeing in the hearts of people their sins. During the igumenate of Pimen (1132–1141), he performed many virtuous deeds. Once, by the prayer of the venerable one, the body of a black-robed monk, who had died with a strong stench, ceased to smell. Venerable Onisifor reposed in 1148, and his relics rest in the Antoniev (Near) caves. His memory is celebrated on November 9/22, likely on the day of his name day with Saint Martyr Onisifor of the 4th century. The name of Venerable Onisifor is mentioned in the general canon of the Kiev-Pechersk Venerables along with Venerable Jeremiah and Matthew the clairvoyant.
