Saint Oleg, Prince of Briansk
Venerable
Saint Blessed Prince Oleg Romanovich of Bryansk (in Baptism Leonid) was the grandson of Saint Martyr Prince Michael of Chernigov. In 1274, he participated in the war against Lithuania alongside his father, Prince Roman Mikhailovich of Bryansk. After 1274, he left the principality and took monastic vows under the name Basil at the Bryansk Peter and Paul Monastery, built with his own funds. In this monastery, the Saint Blessed Prince died as a strict ascetic around 1285 and was buried in the monastery church.
