Neonilla Andreevna Shuvalova was born on October 28, 1866, in the village of Balka, in the Baranovsky district of the Lower Volga region. She grew up into a peasant family. She embraced monastic life and received the name Nina. She remained at the monastery until 1917. Following the Revolution and the destruction of the monastery, she moved to the city of Chimkent (present-day Shymkent, in southern Kazakhstan).
On October 10, 1937, she was arrested. She was sent into trial considered connected with the case of Hieromonk Gabriel (Vladimirov). She was accused of being a member of a counter-revolutionary organization.
She was sentenced to the supreme penalty and got executed during the night of November 19–20, 1937. The location of her burial remains unknown to this day. In 2000, the Holy Synod numbered her among the saints of the Church.
