Deacon
Saint Nicholas, who was born in 1889 in the village of Sivkovo, was given the ministry in the Znamensky Church in the village of Lisintsevo. In 1920, he was ordained as a deacon, and in 1925, he was transferred to the Transfiguration Church in the village of Bolshie Vyazemy. In 1938, Deacon Nicholas was arrested on false charges and, not admitting to any anti-Soviet statements, was sentenced to execution. He was shot on June 27, 1938, and buried in an unmarked grave at the Butovo firing range. In 1939, all employees of the Zvenigorod NKVD were arrested for falsifying investigative cases, but Deacon Nicholas's case was not reviewed, considering his social status as a servant of Christ.
