Saint Nicholas Udintsev was born on April 4, 1862, in the family of a priest. He studied at the Perm Theological Seminary but was expelled. From 1890, he taught in folk schools, and in 1892, he was ordained as a deacon. In 1894, he became a priest and served in various churches, teaching in church-parish schools. For his zealous fulfillment of duties, he was awarded a pectoral cross and a cassock.
In 1907, he was transferred to the village of Klevakinskoye, where he served in the Mikhailo-Arkhangelsk Church. In 1915, he moved to the Voznesensk Church of the village of Koptelovskoye. At that time, the revolution began, and the situation became tense. Father Nicholas was suspected of agitating against mobilization, and in 1918, during the Civil War, he was killed by Red Army soldiers in the altar of the church. This occurred on July 25/August 7, 1918.
Saint Nicholas Udintsev was glorified in the Council of New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia in 2002.
