Presbyter
Saint Nicholas Rozov, a holy martyr and priest, was born in 1892 in the village of Voronye in the Kostroma province. After graduating from the Yaroslavl Theological Seminary, he served as a psalmist, and in 1916 he was ordained as a priest. In 1930, he was awarded the rank of protopresbyter, and in 1938 he was arrested.
Father Nicholas was accused of having a 'strong influence' on his parishioners and of subversive activities, including sermons that exposed godlessness and 'calls for baptism.' He was sentenced to 8 years in the camps. During the investigation, he was held in the Yaroslavl prison, where he was subjected to torture. In October 1938, he arrived at the camp in the settlement of Katomysh near Solikamsk. On December 23 of the same year, it was destined for the holy martyr Nicholas Rozov to pass away.
