Saint Nicholas was born in 1860 in the family of priest Peter Konyukhov. In 1879, he graduated from the Perm Theological Seminary and began his service as a teacher and lawgiver in various educational institutions. On October 4, 1887, he was ordained as a priest at the Vvedenskaya Church in the village of Kamgorta, and in 1889 he was transferred to the Resurrection Cathedral in the city of Cherdyn.
For his excellent teaching of the Law of God, he was commended in 1889. From 1899 to 1911, he held the positions of district spiritual father and dean. In 1906, he was awarded the pectoral cross. In 1908, he was elevated to the rank of protodeacon. In 1912, he served as the treasurer of the Cherdyn branch of the Perm Educational Council.
In 1913, parishioners appealed to the bishop for his retention in the position of rector, which testified to his authority and love among the faithful. On May 13, 1914, he was retained as the rector of the Resurrection Cathedral, where he served until his martyr's death.
Protodeacon Nicholas was shot by the Bolsheviks in December 1918 near the village of Yurla. His body was found in February of the following year, and he was solemnly buried in Cherdyn.
